This is just an example of the type of story we would cover. This is not our story.

Fabregas suffered the slight injury to his hamstring during Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Portsmouth last Saturday and underwent a scan earlier this week to discover the full extent of the injury.

But the scan showed that there wasn’t too much damage to the 22-year-old Arsenal skipper’s hamstring and he may be fit for the Premier League clash against the Premiership champions next Saturday.

Wenger, speaking to the official Arsenal website, confirmed that Fabregas will miss the Champions League second-leg at The Emirates, which Arsenal lead 2-0, but said that the injury wasn’t as bad as first thought.

“From last Saturday we lost Cesc Fabregas who did not train today,” said Wenger.

“His scan was quite reassuring as he has no muscular strain but it will take a few days to settle down.
